A Million Hands: Water

Adam recently caught up with Becky from the Community Impact Group to find out why they chose water as an issue to focus on:

“Scouting isnt just a UK organisation its a global movement…and we wanted the issues that we picked to reflect that…so water is a great one because its an international issues rather than something that just affects people locally.”

A Million Hands is an ongoing community impact project that tackles four issues that young people have decided matter the most to them.  The young people on the community impact group also selected various partners for each issue.  Becky explained:

We are working with WaterAid to help deliver real, meaningful impact on they and have produced some fantastic resources on this to help leaders.”

A Million Hands is not just a project for the older members of Scouting, Becky mentioned that within the programme ideas there were activities for the Beavers as well as more advanced activities for Scouts and Explorers.
