London Pride 2017

Scout Radio at London Pride 2017

The Scout Association headed to London Pride 2017 to celebrate the diversity and inclusively of modern scouting, parading the route alongside 300 other groups and organisations, to crowds in the millions, the great sunshine really provided the best environment to be welcomed, cheered and celebrated along by the fantastic crowd.

But how important is for the Scout Association to attend pride and what is the benefit?

“it give the Public the opportunity to see that we are open and inclusive to everybody and show scouting in a positive note” Robert Pickess – Scout Association London Pride Coordinator

“it shows that we will take anybody in and we are not going segregate people” Charlie – Young Leader

“its a great celebration of diversity, and it shows our own members and particularly our youth members that its safe to be whatever you are in scouting and that we are open to everybody and it shows so many members of the public that we are modern and open to all” Tim Kidd – UK Chief Commissioner

“its great to show that we are still are here and we still change with the times and that we welcome everyone, it doesnt matter who you are you can be you” Mike – Host of Youtube Channel Scoutadelic
