Scout Radio is to launch a full time FM Radio Station at Gilwell Park, the home of Scouting

Scout Radio, the official national active support unit for broadcast radio in Scouting, has been granted a ā€˜limited coverageā€™ FM radio licence by government regulator Ofcom, as part of a new trial. This FM radio station will be available across the historic north London camp site and HQ of the Scout Association on 99.6FM. It will broadcast music, interviews, information and other content to entertain those on site, as well as inform and engage listeners of whatā€™s going on at Gilwell and in Scouting. In addition, the station will broadcast coverage of the many events that Scout Radio attends across the county, including those at Gilwell Park. During lockdown we launched our Scouting at Home badge to help with our fundraising. There were some strange noises coming from Gilwell Park this weekend, and some very spooooky things happening... as Scouts attending Scarefest had their chance to present their own radio shows on Scout Radio! Along with the tricking, treating, pumpkin carving. climbing, 3G swinging, shooting and screaming (in the scare mazes!) going on at Gilwell, the Scout Radio caravan studio has been in broadcasting all weekend, with groups choosing their own songs, telling us about their adventures and learning to present live on the radio. The scouts have been attending London pride for 14 years to show our commitment to equality and building a more inclusive society. Starting bright and early in regents park there was chance to meet other members, listen to some of their stories and of course, get glitter on!
