The London Marathon is one of the iconic days on the British calendar with thousands running for causes close to their hearts and millions watching on from the course and further afield. It is a day Scout Radio loves, being able to suppose Scout runners who have dedicated months of their lives to training and fundraising is a privilege. We caught up with some of this years Scout runners, Dave Mills, Kevin Stone, Simon Read and Stuart Wilson at the end of the gruelling 26.2 mile race. What a fantastic day the London Marathon 2015 was, granted the weather wasn't sunny and hot, but apparently it was just right for running! Scout Radio was around the course at various points interviewing the scouting runners and volunteers who take part and help make it happen, we cheered them along and also gave them a big congratulations at the end. Well done to all the Scouting Runners that have taken part and have helped to raise thousands of pounds for national and local scouting causes. David Tapsell who has run the London Marathon once before back in 2013 has taken up the challenge to run for Scouting again, raising almost 2'500 pounds! It's fantastic to see him take on this challenge again, and Scout Radio's Kayleigh caught up with him the day before the race to find out how he's feeling: You can find out more about David's race and sponsor him at: www.virginmoneygiving.com/davidtapsell [soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/202557803" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]

Many other Scouts were running on behalf of the Scout Association and despite the streets being packed tight with many thousands of supporters Scout Radio managed to catch up with many of them throughout the horrendous 26 mile course. We spoke to Stuart Malcolm scout leader at 1st Ferndale and runner for The Scout Association before and after the race and he he told us what a fantastic experience he had running the London Marathon, although hastened to add, it might not be one he rushes to repeat! In true Scouting fashion he tells us he will instead be looking for the next challenge. As well as talking to runners, Scout Radio were lucky en
