This is the show that gets to the heart of what the young people are enjoying around the camp site. Our presenters Joe, Alice and Jemma connect LIVE to our on air studio with Alex and speak to the Scouts about their experiences, what they’re doing at that moment and get real reaction to the adventure at the Jamboree. At OxonJam Out and About visited as many activities as possible, heard from UK Chief Commissioner Tim Kidd, and even had a go in the roller disco to share the experience with those wh...

Essex International Jamboree, Events, Jam FM, Jamboree
Each night during the Jamboree we asked one of the international staff into the studio to talk about Scouting in their home country. One of these was Peter Omondi from Kenya.  As well as his Scouting Peter is involved in a Peace Project centered around 7-a-side football.  We'll be keeping in touch with Peter to see how all this goes....   [soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/playlists/251751158" params="auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true" width="100%" height="450" iframe="true" /]

Jam FM – The Takeover

Jam FM, Run To the Fun
Fancy yourself as a DJ or Radio Presenter? Well try The Takeover! Every day during Run To The Fun between 10am and 12:20pm we offer the opportunity for small groups (around 5) to come together, work with us to plan their show and then broadcast it live on the radio! Because of demand we normally book slots so head to the radio station to book yours when on site - or you can book in advance by emailing [email protected]. Each session is around 40 minutes long. This involves 20 minutes planning and then your 20 minute show. You can talk about what you're up to on camp, why you love scouts, and even pick your songs! All shows are recorded and uploaded onto the JamFM website, so you, your friends and your family can listen again afterwards. Every Takeover presenter will receive a J...

Run to The Fun 3 This year Devon County Scouts are running a week long Jamboree based in Mount Edgecumbe Park just outside Plymouth. All the “normal” activities are on offer (including Jam FM run by Scout Radio!) but also a day with the Royal Navy working at the Disaster School learning how to fight a real fire on a ship and how to stop a ship from sinking! The Run to The Fun 3  Jamboree runs from 25th July to the 1st August and bookings stay open until the end of February. The South West in summer...it's got to be good hasn’t it?! BBC finds hidden treasure at Jam FM

Jam FM, News, Norjam
BBC Radio Norfolk and Jam FM 107.2 have completed a simulcast on both stations this morning.  BBC Radio Norfolk visited Norjam, the Norfolk Scout & Guide International Jamboree, on the Norfolk Showground as part of their Sunday morning Treasure Quest show. One of the clues they needed to find was located in the Jam FM studios on site.  Jam FM is a RSL radio station for the week long Jamboree run by Scout Radio. Kayleigh Poacher was presenting the breakfast show on Jam FM while BBC Radio Norfolk’s Kathrine Nash hunted for the clue.  For a short time both shows were broadcast on both radio stations. Martin Steers, Scout Radio Manager, said “it’s great that the BBC and local community organisations are working together in this way.  Scout Radio was set up to provide radio stations for lar...
