This year Scout Radio visited The Scouts at the family area of London Pride 2019.
While The Scouts have been attending London Pride for a number of years this is the first time that the family area has been in partnership with The Scouts.
This is what some of the volunteers and participants had to say:
As well as the Make, Do and Share activity zones there was also a rainbow campfire with songs and stories. This is Children's author Olly Pike who had been reading by the campfire.
We also linked live between the Scout Radio Activity at Shire Jam 2019, Adam and Callum spoke to Jack from Scout Radio who was at the family area.
The scouts have been attending London pride for 14 years to show our commitment to equality and building a more inclusive society. Starting bright and early in regents park there was chance to meet other members, listen to some of their stories and of course, get glitter on!

On Saturday 27th June over 100 Scouts took to the streets in the annual London Pride parade. This has been the 7th time that Scouting has been represented at Pride showing the world that Scouting is an inclusive and safe place for all members, young and old to be themselves.
Scout Radio were in attendance for the morning meeting along with Dean Jefferys, Region Commissioner for London and Jagz Bharth, Deputy UK Youth Commissioner, as they rallied the troops for the parade.
Before the parade set off there was time for the participants to network and share stories, as well as some bacon sandwiches!
