World Scout Conference gives Craig Turpie the big job
The 41st World Scout Conference recently took place in Baku, Azerbaijan from 14th to 18th August. The conference is open to up to six delegates from each National Scout Organisation, whether they be a single, recognised National Scout Association, such as TSA, or a federation where there are multiple National organisations in the one country, such as in France or Belgium. The conference considered the election of the 12-member World Scout Committee for a three-year term. UK Commissioner for Programme, Craig Turpie, was elected, and subsequently chosen by the incoming committee to be its Chairman. Craig takes over from chairman João Armando Gonçalves. Reunion 2017 – Scout Radio at Gilwell Reunion
Scout Radio returns to Gilwell Reunion once again in 2017 - this time, we're bigger and better than ever with a full FM radio station you can tune into!
Scout Radio will be broadcasting on 87.9fm and online, from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon providing coverage of the entire event.

The Scout Association headed to London Pride 2017 to celebrate the diversity and inclusively of modern scouting, parading the route alongside 300 other groups and organisations, to crowds in the millions, the great sunshine really provided the best environment to be welcomed, cheered and celebrated along by the fantastic crowd.

Scout Radio caught up with Amir Cheema at Summit17 back at the start of April, the recently appointed UK Commissioner for Adult Support, to hear his thoughts on his new role and what he hoped to achieve in the role.

Scouts say ‘Jambo’ to UK Eurovision hopeful Lucie Jones
Scouts across the UK and the rest of the world are saying a massive 'Jambo' and good luck to Lucie Jones, the UK's entry in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
Lucie is known across the Scouting world as part of the group 'The Adventure' who sung 'Jambo' the official song for the World Scout Jamboree 2007. The song was performed several times during the Jamboree and was even released in the UK charts, that summer making the top 100.
Lucie was involved in Scouting in Wales being an explorer and even performing in the Cardiff Scout's and Guide's Gangshow.
Since then she auditioned for Xfactor which saw her progress through to the live shows, loosing out in week 5 against Jedward. Following Xfactor she has had a career that has spanned the TV and Stage with performances in Les Miserables, Th...
