Reunion 2016 – Tim Kidd’s first speech as UK Chief Commissioner

News
Wayne Bulpitt was appointed as the UK Chief Commissioner in May 2009, having been in Scouting since the age of 8. After an incredible term holding the position of UKCC, he's now stepping down and passing the role over onto his deputy Tim Kidd. At a ceremony yesterday hosted at the end of the 90th anniversary of Gilwell Reunion, the handover ceremony for the role of UK Chief Commissioner took place between these two heroes of Scouting. After a tearful farewell to Wayne, Tim took to the stage with his usual air of barely suppressed cheerfulness, and showed in his opening speech just why he is the best choice in the whole of UK Scouting to follow on from Wayne Bulpitt. In the spirit of 2015, and to get in the mood for the forthcoming year, we've put together Scout Radio's 12 Scouting highlights from 2015! January January brought WinterCamp at Gilwell Park and Hawkhirst, so how better to celebrate this month than to enjoy our highlights package from the event? https://soundcloud.com/scoutradio/wintercamp-2015-your-highlights And who can forget that Broadcasting and Radio became a part of the Scouting badge programme in January for all to experience and learn about? Something that really brought excitement to our team! February In February, Scout Radio's Kayleigh talked to Jill Bowman, the

WSJ2015: What is Jagz looking forward to?

WSJ
Scott from Scout Radio caught up with Jagz Bharth, one of the deputy UK Youth Commissioners, at the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan before the Opening Ceremony. “I’ve been to smaller camps, but not a world jamboree before and this is just crazy” boldly stated Jagz about the scale of the jamboree. He commented that you could be camping next to someone from any country during the event and the scale of the jamboree is truly global. We also found out that Jagz will be working on the IST media team during the event, working amongst the social media channels (which is where he’s probably best placed, with his legendary selfie stick moments across the UK). “Scouts is more about camping, we do look back at things that has shaped our lives today” Jagz commented in regard to the upcoming Hiros
