News, WSJ
The 23rd World Scout Jamboree has officially opened! Over 35'000 people joined together for a fantastic show including traditional Japanese drumming and the handover ceremony, where Scout flags were handed from Sweden to Japan. One explorer had a very unique experience during the proceedings: "I got invested into Explorers and it just makes you realise the scale of Scouting around the world." Our Scout Radio WSJ reporters Scott & Adam were amongst the crowd and asked members of one of the UK units what they thought of the momentous occasion: [soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/216946715" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /]

He commented that you could be camping next to someone from any country during the event and the scale of the jamboree is truly global. We also found out that Jagz will be working on the IST media team during the event, working amongst the social media channels (which is where he’s probably best placed, with his legendary selfie stick moments across the UK). “Scouts is more about camping, we do look back at things that has shaped our lives today” Jagz commented in regard to the upcoming Hiros...
